How to steal other people's ideas
Steal from awards books and reels: Advertising creative people (writers and art directors) are masters at grand theft. They steal ideas by going through books of award winning advertising ideas from overseas. Or collections of tv commercials. The client is never an idea is second hand when it is presented.
Why don't you do the same. If you can't get books of award winning ads, get your hands on some sophisticated foreign magazines in which great ads appear.
Steal from movies and tv shows: Another source of ideas is movies and tv shows. Steal ideas directly from them. They can't sue. Remember the movie "When Harry Met Sally" there's a scene where the Sally shows Harry how she can fake an orgasm while they are sitting in a restaurant. That scene was stolen by advertisers all around the world. And not a cent was paid in royalties.
Steal from ad agencies: Another source of ideas is the advertising pitch. Many clients use this technique. Declare open season on your advertising account. If you spend more than a couple of million edach year, you'll have 20 or 30 agencies clawing over each other to present you with their ideas (for free) for your next ad campaign. They'll put their best people on the job. You're under no obligation to hire them. Reappoint your incumbent agency and get on with using some of those ideas.
